But the calling is too strong, so had to doodle something in that vein during my precious break time before returning to the Nightmare. “Not Thorin??” you say?     He’s a story teller!

    I was actually really late in the game.  I hadn’t finished DAO yet, so I didn’t know anything about him.  I really enjoyed my Brosca start, but it red-ringed my 360.  So … I wound up buying DAO/DAA on the PS3 a week before DA2 came out.

    I think I started getting really excited when I saw Aimo’s artwork suggesting Varric would be a love interest.  I was soooo excited about the possibility of a dwarf love interest, especially after the letdown of Leske and Gorim and Oghren and Sigrun.  (…I’ve kind of got a thing, I guess.)

    I love how Varric interacts with Hawke.  I love that he’s very watchful and protective.  I love that his words and phrasing are rude and unapologetic.  He’s the kind of suave mofo I gravitate toward in stories and games.

    I was working on an Assassin’s Creed cosplay when I decided to work on Varric.  I found the moleskin in a bargain bin and decided I JUST HAD TO HAVE VARRIC’S COAT.  And it kind of went from there.

    Turns out I really do have a thicker/shorter body type.  And the square jaw.  And the blonde hair.  And the personality.  And the canon aversions to alcoholism.  And the canon attraction to looking more fierce than I am.  And Hawke.  And Bianca.

    Really, Varric’s very harmonious for me.  :)
